Frequently Asked Questions

Can you treat...?

We treat the vast majority of muscle, bone, ligament or tendon related conditions. We prefer not to treat vertigo, jaw or hand injuries, but we treat just about anything else! If you want to know more, visit “We Treat”. You may also want to read more about common conditions on our Blog.

If you want to discuss your specific condition, please give me a call on my direct business number: 0480 218 360.

If I am unable to answer, please leave a short text message with your name and enquiry as I may be busy treating. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Appointment Times

At Your Health Physio we believe in delivering the highest quality services at the best value prices. As part of this value, we offer 30-minute appointments for both initial and review appointments. This allows us to spend plenty of time helping you and answering any questions you may have.

What can I expect?

During the initial assessment, we will ask you some questions about your condition, and will complete some tests to diagnose your condition. We will explain to you what is causing your pain and how we can work together to help you to acheive your goals.

We will then of course treat your condition. This may include manual therapy or massage techniques, exercises, stretches or advice in regards to your sport or current exercise.

If further sessions are needed, Sam will make a treatment plan with you with a guide as to how many sessions may be required.

Cancellations

If you are feeling better, free of pain or cannot attend your appointment we understand that you may have to cancel your appointment.

Cancellations can be costly for us however, especially if at late notice and can mean that we are unable to offer someone an appointment when they really need our help. So please help us by giving plenty of notice if you know you need to cancel.

Cancellations within 24 hours of an appointment and non-attendances will incur a cancellation fee.

We will send you a reminder via text or email before your appointment, but we do expect that you do write your appointment time into your calendar/diary or to ask for an appointment card with a written reminder

Bookings

The best way to book is to Book Online. You should find it convenient, easy to use and it is very helpful on our end too. You can also call us on 0480 218 360. If I am unable to answer, please leave a short text message with your name and enquiry as I may be busy treating. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Payments & Pricing

Private

HICAPS services are now available. This means we can take all private health payments via the terminal in the clinic. Our private rates are some of the most affordable in the region, yet we believe delivering some of the highest quality services. If you would like to know our exact prices, send us a message below.

Medicare

If you have a doctor-referred EPC plan (Medicare) we are currently one of few bulk billing physiotherapy services in the region.

  • Please ensure you bring to your first appointment your completed EPC referral. Unfortunately without this on the initial appointment date we will be unable to process your service under Medicare.

*While we will seek to assist, you are responsible for keeping track of how many services you have used. Please ensure you are not attempting to use more than the allocated number of services (5 sessions combined between all allied health services).

Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders

If you are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background we welcome you to our clinic. We are committed to playing our part in helping to improve the health of Indigenous Australians and you can expect us to continue to offer bulk-billed Medicare services to you for eligible care plans. If you have questions about how to access a Medicare plan, please message us below.

  • Please ensure you bring to your first appointment your completed referral. Unfortunately without this on the initial appointment date we will be unable to process your service under Medicare.

Work Cover, TAC, DVA

We accept Work Cover, TAC, NDIS (plan-managed) and DVA patients and all have no gap fee.

  • Please ensure that you bring paperwork confirming approval of your claim, including your claim number and date of injury. If you have a claim that you are confident will be approved but is not yet finalised, you will have to pay private rates to begin and we will print your invoice to allow you to claim it back when possible.

What to bring/wear?

If you have been referred by your doctor, please bring your referral on the first visit.

If you are under Work Cover, TAC, NDIS or DVA please bring your claims paperwork.

Private patients, you will need to bring your private health card.

Scans: If you have any had imaging taken (x-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI) in Geelong, the good news is that we can access all your scans and you can leave them at home. If you have had scans completed elsewhere, if you could bring them please that would be great.

Clothing: If we are treating your hip, thigh or knee it’s best to have shorts on, at least underneath. If we are treating your neck or shoulder it can be best to come with a loose-fitting singlet on so we can easily access your lower neck area.

  • While it is important to access the areas that need to be treated, we respect your privacy and would only ask you to remove only what is necessary to access injured or related areas. We will also use a towel for additional draping to make you feel completely comfortable.
